Five persons were on Sunday killed at Ukana Ikot Etim area of Essien Udim Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State, by an alleged drunk driver.
An eyewitness, Godwin Anthony, said five out of the seven bystanders the
vehicle crashed into died instantly while two others sustained serious
injuries.
He said when witnesses approached the driver, it was discovered that he was drunk. He said the driver was apprehended and handed over to police men of the Ikot Ekpene Police Command.
The witness further said the seven persons who were hit in the unfortunate accident were returning from church.
