and armed robbery suspect, Henry Chibueze alias Vampire.
The wanted criminal met his waterloo early this morning at about 1AM on Thursday during a gunbattle with the IGP Intelligence Response Team in Omu Awa Forest,Ikwerre L.G.A. Rivers State.
Five other members of his gang were arrested alive and cache of arms and ammunition were recovered.
5 other members of his gang were also arrested in Imo, Abia and Rivers States, by the IRT operatives led by Assistant Commissioner of Police, Abba Kyari. The suspects were said to have confessed during interrogation to have been behind the rescuing of Vampire from Owerri High Court.
The suspects also admitted to have carried out 4 kidnappings within Imo State and it environ after they rescued Vampire. A police sergeant attached to IRT, and 3 members of the kidnap gang also sustained multiple bullet wounds during the gun battle.
Recall that Vampire was rescued from prison warders within the court premises in Owerri, Imo State on January 27th.
